Welcome to the site. We have tried to give you discerning folk, who have sought us out, everything you might want to know about 'The Games' and its creation. The show was orginally created in autumn 2010 in association with The Met, Bury and The Unity Theatre, Liverpool, 'The Games' subsequently won the Best Production and Best Comedy in The Liverpool Daily Post Readers' Choice Awards 2010.

The show was then re-written for showcasing at the Edinburgh fringe festival 2011 - in which the show received much critical acclaim and 3 award nominations. The Games is currently undertaking a national tour, so checkout the touring page to be kept uptodate on where we are in the country.

'This is Crazy Theatre, where three performers play a dozen roles and make merry use of dance, clowning, puppetry, shadow play, simulated nudity and terrible couplets. Oh, and acting too... ingeniously invented and explosions of laughter from the audience. - Jeremy Kingston - The Times

'The trio of performers give their all to the audience while ruthlessly refusing to compromise on the humour - a simple and winning formula, yet one that so few shows choose to respect. Definitely triple gold'
Nick Awde - The Stage

The Games is as an ‘undiscovered’ Aristophanes comedy. The show tells the story of three Greek nobodies caught up in a celestial bet between Zeus, Hera and Hercules. Our unwitting heroes: Stanzas (a terrible poet), Darius (the runt of the litter) and Hermaphrodite (born a girl) travel to compete in the ancient Olympics and take on the heroes of the sporting world with epic results for mankind.

‘This fusion of puppetry, clowning, dance and singing, with its skilfully crafted melting-pot of gags and quips, manages to captivate without ever letting up…it’s a refreshing and masterful piece of original storytelling... Definitely worthy of a gold medal.’ - Andrew Latimer - 3 Weeks

The Games incorporates clown, original music, song and shadow puppetry and is co-directed by Mark Smith (Spike) with Toby Park (Spymonkey). Original music composed by Toby Park.
